今年 10 月的 Steam 新品節有點不同於以往，爆出了史上最多，至少 7000～8000 款的新作 Demo，但隨著 AI 發展，狙擊各獨立開發者，透過生成式人工智慧快速仿製的劣質作品也開始出現。

除了仿製作品外，更糟糕的是還有拿著這一點來勒索開發者的人，他們會寄出勒索信給開發者，如果不付錢，就會利用 AI 快速仿製他們的遊戲並搶先推出，來讓原作遊戲的商業價值崩落。

這次故事的主角就是一位日本遊戲開發者持邊高志，他正在製作一款 SRPG 作品《Dragon’s Chronicles～双星のレギンレイヴ～》，據他所稱，這是一款本格派的戰棋 RPG，遊戲很難，但也有很多巨乳角色，基本上是專為那些愛巨乳、討厭政治正確的硬核 SRPG 宅男打造的遊戲。

不過就在新品節正式開始前夕，他收到了來自不知名人士的勒索信件，信中表示要他在 24 小時內支付價值 200 美元的 Steam 卡片，否則就會發布他的遊戲的翻版，並在信裡提到附上翻版遊戲的影片，來證明有這個能耐。

但郵件中實際上並沒有影片，持邊高志回復他：「 如果你真的能複製出一款比我的遊戲更有趣的 SRPG，我願意花 200 美元購買。」另一邊把這起事件於 SNS 上公開，他的本意是要提醒同行們小心這種新型的詐騙或威脅。

不過經過媒體報導後卻爆紅，據作者所說，《Dragon’s Chronicles～双星のレギンレイヴ～》相比前一日願望清單獲得了 38400% 的增長，同時他也收到了很多玩家們鼓勵的訊息。

能獲得這麼好的成績，他他還反寄信給當初的威脅者，問他能不能來定期勒索他一下，以此來進行宣傳，可惜並未收到回復。不過，他還是在遊戲影片中的工作人員名單裡，「公關/協助宣傳」職務加上了「勒索犯」，來紀念這次事件。
